Meet Your Aesthetic Goals with Customized Cosmetic Dentistry

Porcelain Veneers

We proudly offer a wide range of cosmetic dentistry procedures at our practice, including custom-crafted, highly lifelike porcelain veneers. These thin porcelain shells are bonded to the front of your teeth to mask numerous aesthetic flaws such as chips, cracks, misshapen teeth, overly spaced teeth, and more. Drs. David Kaffey and Mark Weinstein offer both traditional and no-prep veneers made from IPS Empress® porcelain, and we will help you select the right type to meet your needs.

Teeth Whitening

If you are embarrassed by a discolored smile, your dentist can enhance your appearance and self-confidence with teeth whitening. Both at-home and in-office treatments use peroxide-based whitening gel to break down the chemical bonds between stained molecules and your teeth. In-office Philips Zoom!® typically takes about 45 minutes, after which you will enjoy immediate results. At-home Opalescence® treatment uses custom-made whitening trays to conveniently lighten your smile in approximately two weeks. We are also happy to provide specialized toothpaste for our patients with especially sensitive teeth.

Tooth Bonding

Tooth bonding is a cost-efficient alternative to porcelain veneers, and it can correct many of the same cosmetic concerns. During the procedure, you doctor will first lightly etch your teeth with a chemical solution to create a stronger bonding area. After carefully selecting dental resin that matches the natural shade of your smile, he will apply the material to your teeth and sculpt it so that it blends seamlessly with your smile. Once he has achieved your desired results, the bonding material will be hardened with a curing light.

Crown Lengthening

If you have proportionately small teeth, it can greatly affect your appearance. In many cases, it can also make restorative treatment difficult or even impossible. For example, if your tooth has broken close to the gum line, there may not enough of its structure to support a crown or other restoration. During a crown lengthening procedure, your dentist will remove a small amount of gum tissue and, in some cases, a tiny portion of bone to expose more of your tooth.

Smile Makeover

If you have multiple aesthetic concerns, you may be an excellent candidate for a smile makeover. This comprehensive plan enables you to choose two or more cosmetic treatments to achieve optimal results. Dr. Kaffey or Dr. Weinstein will conduct a thorough examination and help you create a personalized treatment plan to meet your specific needs. In some cases, we may also recommend restorative procedures before you begin your makeover.

Even if you wish for straighter teeth, you may still be hesitant to spend months with metal brackets and wires on your teeth. Fortunately, Invisalign® offers an equally effective but far more discreet alternative. This orthodontic treatment option uses custom-made clear aligner trays to gently straighten your teeth in roughly the same amount of time needed for traditional orthodontic care. Invisalign® trays are removable, so you can continue to enjoy your favorite foods and maintain good dental hygiene throughout your treatment.

Porcelain Crowns

Porcelain dental crowns, often used for restorative purposes, can also have enormous cosmetic benefits for your smile. These caps fit on top of severely stained or misshapen teeth, and they will be custom-crafted to match your surrounding teeth. In fact, our doctors encourage you to visit our nearby partner lab, where technicians will choose the dental porcelain that most closely matches your natural teeth. After the technicians have fabricated your crown, you will return to the office and your doctor will secure it with dental cement.

Periodontal Reshaping

With gum reshaping, also known as a gingivectomy, your dentist can use a highly precise surgical laser to remove excess gum tissue and enhance your smile. The laser actually sterilizes tissue and cauterizes blood vessels, resulting in minimal discomfort and recovery time. Our doctors use a similar technique to perform a frenectomy. A frenectomy is designed to remove the frenulum, or tissue that attaches the upper lip to the gums. When this tissue is too tight or unusually positioned, it can cause speech impediments and problems with tooth alignment.
